When Feng Shui hit India, everyone had bamboos and coins in all different places. Suddenly it became the cure to all. Suddenly everyone was an expert on it, so we decided to get to the bottom of it and find out the real principles behind this ancient art form to bring your home or space some good luck. Feng Shui is renowned for improving people’s lives and it’s associated with bringing good luck into your life. Classical feng shui has a wealth of feng shui cures and feng shui charms for protection and good luck. The desire for protection should not come from fear, but rather from the understanding that there is a wide variety of energies around us, and some of those energies are best left outside your own energy field.

Feng Shui is based on the harmonious energy, “Qi” pronounced as “chi”. It incorporates all the elements of fire, water, metal, wood, and earth. The key is to imbibe this beneficial energy and surround yourself with it. When you are more thoughtful and intentional about your habits, your décor and your personal feng shui, you begin to attract and compound energy, which builds just like money, and it attracts money too! 

The Regal Phoenix
The mythical phoenix is a bird of opportunity. Displaying this majestic bird brings opportunities for business, socializing, and love. It is the perfect symbol when times are tough because of its “rising from the ashes” mythology. You can simulate the bird by placing a stone in front of the house that represents a small footstool. The stone should look appropriate in the landscape and should be about two feet wide. Indoors, display pictures of peacocks or other birds with bright plumage to stimulate opportunities.

The use of the lucky cat
We love this one. The cat is so cute welcoming you into every place. If you have travelled to any Asian country, the lucky cat is a must in every store or establishment. It can be compared to the use of Ganesh in feng shui. Both symbols are from non-Chinese cultures – the Lucky Cat is from Japan and Ganesh is from Indian culture.

The Wealth Buddha
This one is the easiest and happiest! The large smiling Buddha seen in Chinese restaurants is commonly thought of as the Buddha of Wealth and is there to bring good business and financial success to the establishment. Business people should place a Buddha on their desks or in their offices to help them bring abundance to the workplace. Look for fat, happy Buddhas with gold ingots, coins, and other wealth objects, like a big sack of money!

The Colour Red
Red is an important colour in many cultures. Including India where it is held sacred. It activates the energy field around you. When you wear dark colors or decorate in neutral colors, the effect can be beautiful but often lifeless. Adding the color red to a black dress or a beige bedroom will add enough “wow” to go from stagnant to vibrant instantly. Red lanterns are used a lot as well and are known to be good luck in a marriage.
