Method Statement
SURFACE PREPARATION
1. Clean the surface thoroughly to get rid of all contaminants. Remove all surface imperfections and loose surface pieces.
2. Prime locally with the Dr. Fixit Primer PU or Dr. Fixit Pidipoxy MI-EP and allow 2-3 hours to dry. Fill all prepared cracks with Dr. Fixit PU sealant.
3. Use PU Primer if the moisture content is less than 4% and use MI-EP Primer if the moisture content is 5-8% and allow the primer to cure according to its technical instruction.
4. Maximum moisture content should not exceed 5%.
5. Do not wash the surface with water.
APPLICATION
1. Pour the Dr. Fixit Flexi PU 270(I) onto the primed surface and lay it out by roller or brush, until the whole surface is covered. You can use airless spray allowing a considerable saving of manpower.
2. After 12-18 hours (not later than 48 hours) apply another layer of the Dr. Fixit Flexi PU 270(I). For demanding applications, apply a third layer of the Dr. Fixit Flexi PU 270(I).
3. Reinforce always with the Geotextile Fabric at problem areas, like wall-floor connections, 90º angles, chimneys, pipes, waterspouts (siphon), etc.
4. The Dr. Fixit Flexi PU 270(I) layer should be Terminated properly using Termination strip, Fasteners and Dr. Fixit Sealant.
5. Spread the geotextile of minimum 100gsm over cured Dr. Fixit Flexi PU 270(I) as a separation layer, before a concrete screed is laid.
6. Protect the coating with a concrete screed of M20 grade with a thickness of 40-50 mm (minimum) maintaining an average slope of 1:100 towards the drain outlets for effective and efficient draining of water.
7. Place a drainage board as specified over the concrete screed.
8. Place soil for vegetation.
