After the completion of work, here might be many small things like choked pipes, leaking joints or electrical issues. As the job is completed the contractor would have moved on from the site, it is helpful to decide at the onset of the project about post project maintenance.
If your contractor is available to discuss and agree on these grounds then only you should go ahead and get the project executed by him.
