Exciting new tile trends for 2017

A redesign on the cards for 2017? Or just bought your new home and looking to have it designed? Then you want to keep reading to find out all the exciting new tile trends in the market today!

Bathrooms and kitchens are some of the most used spaces in our homes and some of the most challenging yet interesting spaces to design from a designer’s point of view. I love working on bathrooms and tiles are one of my favorite ways to bring home the ‘look’!

Here are some of my favorite tile trends this season!

Texture

Tiles have gone beyond the usual glossy ceramic and glass and there are a host of new materials that are being used! Fired and glazed clay tiles, earthy terracotta and even stone tiles. A great way to bring in depth, texture and some drama!

Patterned

Patterned

Morrocan, Arabesque, Spanish or Jaipur, there’s a pattern out there for you. In deep rich colors, these patterned tiles add color, visual appeal and uniqueness to any bathroom or kitchen.

Geometrical shapes

Geometrical shapes

Bored with white subway tiles! Well reimagine it in a herringbone or chevron layout or add them in interesting shapes! We are seeing geometric shapes in tiling everywhere and they are a great way to reinvent the classic.

Vintage

Vintage

What’s old is new again! Vintage hexagon tiles are making a big comeback and in graphic colors they look fresh and modern but still retain that old world charm! The black and whites look so chic!

Marble

Marble

Marble tiles as a tile trend are here to stay and are still one of the easiest ways to bring in the floor to ceiling marble look. Luxe on a budget!

Fish scale

Fish scale

My favorite tile trend of the season – the fish scale! The interesting shape, the deep colors mimicking the ocean and nature and the drama….this is ‘the’ look for a standout bathroom!
